"The last months of his life": the impact on the artistic environment of what happened to Benjamín Vicuña

There is no doubt that Benjamín Vicuña is one of the most important figures in the world of entertainment, and not only does he have an enormous talent for what he does, but he is also extremely loved by the people. The public is always interested in what happens in his life, both in the media and artistically.
Now Benjamín Vicuña has added a new achievement to his career, and that is that he presented his new film, El silencio de Marcos Tremmer , at an important film festival in Punta del Este. After presenting the feature film, the artist organized a cocktail party for all the cast members in an exclusive restaurant in Uruguay, Provence del Enjoy Punta del Este.
In El Silencio by Marcos Tremmer, the protagonist, played by Benjamín Vicuña , faces the diagnosis of a terminal illness that is progressing aggressively and with a life expectancy of only a few months. He questions whether he should tell his partner or protect her by keeping it a secret, but is it right for the character to decide for her?
During the cocktail, the film's director, Miguel García de la Calera, said: "Under this thematic premise we have developed the story of Marcos Tremmer, a peculiar man capable of giving up the comfort that his wife could give him in the last months of her life, in order to avoid immense suffering." Alongside Benkamín Viucla, Adriana Ugarte, Félix Gómez, Daniel Hendler, Hony Estrella and Mirta Busnelli star.
In a recent interview, Benjamín Vicuña told us all about his new film: “You are going to see a romantic drama, you are going to see a film about everything we are willing to do for love. You are going to see a protagonist who makes a mistake by making a decision to hide his own illness so as not to hurt others. We are going to see the consequences of that. And we are going to see love in all its expression, even in death.”
“It was almost a year of my life that I dedicated to this beautiful project that moves me, calls me from a human perspective, challenges me. Talking about the disease with height, with delicacy, with love, with affection. I did it, the whole cast did it, the whole team did it, the director. It was a very big film. And I started working between Spain, the Dominican Revolution, Uruguay, Argentina,” he continued.
“I think that lies are often lies. Lies can hurt, even if we think they are noble, even if we think they are pious, as they say. In the case of the character, he hides his illness and that has great consequences. Come see the film and draw your own conclusions. I think the public will be divided, it will be divided around what is better, whether to hide something like that or to be able to share it as a family and live it together. And also, by the way, to talk about the figure of the companion, which is also something that is very important,” she said.
